Jean Wright, MD, MBA, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the COPD Foundation, is a health care leader known for driving innovation, advancing patient-centered care, and leading organizational transformation. Since being appointed CEO in December 2022, Dr. Wright has led the Foundation through a period of significant growth and increased national visibility. Under her leadership, the organization has expanded its reach to identify the millions of people living with undiagnosed COPD, strengthened strategic partnerships across industry, government, and advocacy, and elevated COPD as a national health priority. She has advanced initiatives focused on early diagnosis, access to care, and patient-centered research, while also guiding the Foundation's evolution to better serve people living with COPD, bronchiectasis, and NTM lung disease. Dr. Wright received her medical degree from Wayne State University, her MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School, and her bachelor's degree in science from the University of Michigan. She previously held leadership roles as a physician executive at Emory, Chair of Pediatrics at Mercer University, Executive Director of Memorial Health's Children's and Women's Hospital in Savannah, and Chief Medical Officer for Atrium Health, now part of Advocate Health. She has been recognized as one of the Top 30 Chief Innovation Officers in America and was nominated as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Health IT.
